Lane Carter Is #1
« on: February 11, 2013, 11:06:54 PM »
I bought a Meanstreak from anotehr member here on BR. The ball was in excellent condition with less than 10 games and had one of my favorite layouts on it. When I got the ball, I had to plug the thumb to lengthen the span to fit my grip. After getting that done, I tried the ball and was really disappointed in how it performed and wasn't sure I did the right thing buying it.

I contacted Lane Carter and he worked with me with a lot of patience giving me great advice on what and how to adjust the cover. I have used the ball twice since final cover adjustments and the ball is a monster on the back end. It goes really long and when it sniffs the dry, it moves and I mean it moves with great continuation thru the pin deck with great pin mix. No matter if I miss my target too far right on the lanes, the ball still gets back to the pocket with smashing success.

Thanks a bunch Lane for your help.

Thank you, Jim. My pleasure!

Let's hope the Meanstreak recovers as well as you do.

I also want to give props to Lane and to BrunsNick, who let us both hijack a thread on the new releases and worked with us both on our similar Meanstreak issues. Surface adjustments (thanks Lane) and a P3 hole (thanks Nick) also unleashed my Meanstreak.  Great ball!

Thank you, dougb.  I enjoy helping where I can.  Nick is a busy guy (appearances at pro shops around the west, and the "red carpet")  so I try to take some heat off him.

I can speak for both of us.  It's impossible for a manufacturer to find a "magic" surface that will work for all of us, so we find satisfaction when our ideas help you match up with your conditions.  These balls are "grenades" when the bowler matches up, though.  Keep throwing strikes!

I got another chance to throw my Meanstreak today.  This was on a fresh 39' house shot with medium oil volume and very clean HPL lanes.  The backends were smokin'!

After the first game with the Aura (a great ball in it's own right) I switched to the Meanstreak.  Standing on 23 I could throw it anywhere between the 1 and 5 board and guarantee the ball would find the pocket.  The ball motion was so continuous I started stringing together many strikes.  A few people came over and asked me what I was throwing.  It was that good.

By comparison, standing on 21 throwing the VersaMax at the same break point worked, as did standing on 27 with the Aura.  But both of those balls were burning up a bit while the Meanstreak just bit into the lane.  Exactly what I wanted it for.  Awesome piece.

Next comes the RINGER!

Lane is a huge asset to the Brunswick Team. His knowledge of the product is fantastic and he's always willing to help. I'm definitely a lot more busy than I was when I had pro shops, but my job with Brunswick has been a fun ride and I'm going to keep pushing hard!

Thank you to everyone who has ever supported our brands! I'm always here to help.

I was well enough to bowl 3 games in an "old timer" get together today.

I have 3 words after bowling 3 games.

I'd like to point out you had two Meanstreak owners come here with problems and two Brunswick staffers jumped in and fixed them. How's that for customer service?

Thanks guys!

Lane and Nick is the best customer service there is. That plus the great quality and longlivity of their balls is the reason I decided to switch to Brunswick. I have never received help as good as this from any other company.
