Defense Zone

What makes this ball so special?
In 1999 or 2000, a friend, who had his stuff stolen, needed a ball to use one night. He shot 300/800 with it, so I let him keep it. The other night, while subbing on a late league, he came in and said that he had my old DZ in the car. He brought it in and I started rolling it. The first eight shots were strikes. I forgot just how strong of a ball it was.

I don't have any idea where the cg is. Is it is where you have the 'B' above your fingers, the Zone label to the left and the Defense label to the right?
This one is drilled with the pin above the ring finger. The 'B' is 1-1/2" to the left of grip center(in my track). The thumb is touching the 'E' in the Zone label.

If I have another ball with simular numbers, and drilling layout, could I get the same motion on the lanes?
If you didn't like that strike, watch this one!

If I'm not wrong, look for a little white dot/indent in the ball for the CG.  The white may have come out.  It's almost like someone took the tip of a hole punch to it.  That's how the CG is marked on my older Brunswick stuff and Quantums.

The cg should be with in 2-4" of the pin more then likely and is/was white. As mentioned it is a small indention. Just ask the proshop operator I'm sure he can find it for you. I had a Defense Zone back in the day and it was amazing. It wasn't a super popular ball because of the time it was released during the summer is the dead season for bowling balls.

I would imagine if you can get a Karma Blue/Black which has the PK18 coverstock and play with the surface a little you would be real close to the same reaction. I just drilled the Blue/Green Karma Pearl and the ball is amazing. PK18 is a great coverstock and I understand why it is still very popular today.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.
