Picking up my first Big B ball tonight! (Smokin)
« on: December 09, 2005, 05:22:46 AM »
I've been trying out a bunch of different companies, and now is Big B's turn.  I'm really excited about picking this baby up.  Pin under bridge with the cg kicked an inch or so to the right, a standard drilling for this ball if I'm understanding it right.  I like to play the track area in a good ole down and in shot.  I've heard great things about the Inferno line, and I love a good skid/flip, so I'm hoping the Smokin works out for my needs.  It will also fill a gap between my Uturn Pearl (my go to ball right now) and my V2 Power.  (Haven't seen the need for something that strong lately.)  I'm hoping the Smokin can be my first ball out, as the UTP has been a little too weak for the first game lately.  What I really hope is that I can start with the Smokin AND end with it.  I'll keep you updated here.    Any thoughts on what I should expect?

It's only because I traded for a used ball, and it was drilled that way and so I'm just moving the thumb first.  If I don't like the reaction, I can always plug and start over.

im not blaming you, ive just noticed waaaay too many people drilling it this way.
the ball really is not meant to read the lanes early.
completely defeats the purpose of a higher RG ball.+

personally, when i get mine drilled its going to be 1L all the way.

Threw 4 games w/ the ball last night.  I was playing in a house I was unfamiliar with that had an entirely different condition, but I didn't score under 170 and had a couple around 200.  Ball seemed to be a bit inconsistent as far as breakpoint/reaction, but I would guess that's more due to the operator.    I liked the shape of the hook and the hit was real nice.  (But what doesn't hit nice nowadays?)

Anything else thats not a brunswick! LOL just kidding. The Smokin Inferno is not a ball for me. The way my friend has his drilled, seems more like a down/in shot ball for me. Good hit overall though if you throw it correctly.
