twisted release date
« on: October 28, 2007, 07:22:27 AM »
i've heard different stories about this one. Some say it drops in Nov. while others say Jan. with the avalanches. Seems odd that it would be on tour 3 months before it is released. so does anyone know?

I was at the bowling tournament today and talked to the Brunswick representative (who was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly) and he said they got a bunch out quickly for the Masters.  He said now they're cranking out about 15,000 a week or something and by November 20th or so they will be available for retail.

Asking about the look the ball will get and he said it should be similar to the Vapor Zone but it won't pick up the midlane as much.  He said it should have a bigger reaction off the dry.  Basically he advised it would be a good replacement for my Vapor Zone.  More skid snap but similar overall reaction.  If true this should mean a harder hit.

He said the Fury Perl will be a little stronger than the TF.  On a house shot especially the TF should perform well because it won't read so fast on drier lanes (or lanes that get toasted) and maintain a predictable reaction longer.

I watched Sean Rash roll the TF quite a bit in practice today and it looked good.  Certainly it was a bit more skid/snap than Big B usually has which is a nice change.  The backend really moved and it looked really clean through the front.

Hmm.. It sounds like something Visionary has. Ogre Solid (Fury Solid), Ogre Pearl (Fury Pearl), and Ogre SS (Twisted Fury).. Of course, the Fury's are stronger, though.

That's just an observation.

The Twisted Fury sure looks like it may perform pretty well. Sounds like a ball I need right now actually. Can't wait!

I should also note that the ball looks really cool rolling down the lane.  Initially, the rep said they thought the ball had too much silver in it but once they saw it in motion it looked really good.

The ball does look good in person.  And rolling it, it's very distinctive.  It sort of looks like this metallic, flashing sphere of power intent on destroying anything in its path.

I figure I'm going to get one and then refinish the Vapor Zone up to something like 2200 grit and polish it real nice and make it a toasted lanes ball.

That will leave me with:
Fury (sanded to 1000 with rough buff)
Twisted Fury (OOB)
Vapor Zone (2200, high gloss)

That should more than cover me on the house conditions I generally play on.

I guess I am a little lost here. Why would it take Brunswick until January to release the new Avalanches and yet they are able to make an entire new ball and release it a couple months earlier.

No idea.  The rep told me they were pumping them out and around November 20th they should be available at retail.

All I can think of is the Twisted Fury will be out in time for Christmas and since it's probably a higher profit margin ball, they put all their resources at making that ball.  Since a lot of people get a new ball for Christmas they'll want the new Fury which Brunswick probably makes more money off of.

15,000 a week, you mean 1500 a week.  If they are making 15k of the same ball a week boy i cant wait to see the price on bowlersparadise.com

15,000 before release date, not per week. That works out to about 5,000 a week over the next 3 weeks and then they hit the trucks.

ENJOY !!!!!!

You sure must have a collection.  I wish I made $8.50 an hour.  I make 4x as much as you and I can't buy a target zone.  $8.50 must be a magic #.

All I pay for is car insurance, car maintence, and gas.. I dont have to do utilities and car payments and house payments.
