ABSOLUTE INFERNO data & pic revealed!
« on: December 29, 2004, 04:25:55 AM »

Since today, German Brunswick distributor has official data and a picture of the new ABSOLUTE INFERNO on their homepage, as well as a German text (see below for data and translation ).

For a picture, either look at www.spobag.de and use the link or try www.spobag.de/baelle/inferno_activator.htm to get directly to the relevant page. No entry in the ball comparison chart yet, nor coordinates for this grid.

ABSOLUTE INFERNO
60-104280-93X
Coverstock: Activator +
Colour: Blue pearl/Orange pearl (looks daring!)
Hardness: 76-77
Surface: Rough Buff

Core dynamics:
RG-max: 2.513
RG-min: 2.463
RG-diff.: 0.050
Average RG: 2.6 of 10

Performance:
Hook potential: 130
Length: 100
Breakpoint: 85
Weights: 12-16 Pounds

Ball review from Brunswick (humble personal translation):
The Absolute Inferno combines the properties of the original Inferno low RG core with the aggressive Activator+ coverstock series. This puts up a new standard in ball reaction characteristics: improved hook potential, strong change of direction at the breakpoint and better control in the pines area: All together results in the name "ABSOLUTE INFERNO".

Brunswick’s Activator® coverstock has established itself quickly in the market because of its outstanding characteristics. Activator® Plus is a more aggressive version of the Activator® coverstock. The rougher surface supplies more traction in the oil. This combination offers more room to play with to the player.

Out of the box:
The ABSOLUTE INFERNO is the ideal ball for medium dry to medium oily lane conditions.

Looks like this is going to be a similar coverstock as the Lane#1 Hybrid Dirty Bomb.

Seems to me it would be more comparable to and potentially stronger than the Ultimate, not the original

Care to elaborate?  It seems to be an Original-ish core with the Intense coverstock.  To me that doesn't really seem like it is stronger than the ultimate..

End of January is the scheduled release.

Activator + with the original Inferno core, couldn't have chosen a better combo! The only other idea would have been Activator+ Solid with the Intense core.

Cheers to another Low RG Pearl!!!!!

The coverstock will be the difference between the Original and the Absolute. For those that loved the OI, you will be able to alter the surface enough and choose a layout that will get you close to that favorite Original you looking to replace. For those that liked the OI but wished it could have read the heavier oil a little better or would have made a little sharper move, you will be very pleased with the Absolute. All this and the ball is Beautiful.

Rough Buff just means it will not come NIB with a high factory polish. It will not look "rough", just a light buff.

Happy New Year Y'all,
