Title: Polishing Strike Zone

Right no it's at it's OOB state. If I polished it what would happen to the reaction?

Depends on the drilling and lane conditions you're playing on.It will smooth out the reaction somewhat,but refer to the first part of my reply.

That's what happens with ANY ball - the matte OOB surface improves traction in the oily areas of the lane, so the ball will read it earlier and have a smoother breakpoint. Polished, you decrease this traction ability, the balls skids on oil and handles generally less of it - but you might experience a sharper breakpoint and, on the right condition, a more pronounced back end reaction.

Alright, thanks. I have just seen some polished but I like mine for heavy oil so I guess I'll keep it the way it is.

We polished my Strike Zone recently and it gave me a similar look to my Absolute Inferno but a little sharper at the breakpoint, probably due to it being assymetric and the drilling.

We put it back to 1000 grit, and I play 3rd arrow with it.  I tried the factory 800 grit, but the spinner the pro shop had left marks in it at 800 and it looked bad, so we went back to 1000.  The ball was used, but I think if you had a faster spinner you could go to a coarser finish and it would look good.
