Drilled this thing up on Tuesday, and had to wait until today to get it on the lanes. Pin in ring finger, CG kicked out about an inch from grip center, no weight hole required. I left the ball in box surface....which was pretty dull.
Lane Condition: 34ft of oil, buffed to 41ft, clean backends. Wood Lanes
LINE: I was standing on 24 trying to play setting the ball down at 17board and out to 13 at the arrows with my breakpoint at about 6 board.
REACTION: This ball is laid out exactly like my Raging and it rolls like my Raging only it is a couple of boards stronger. I figured that was primarily due to the Dull surface. It got down the lane well, and started rolling up at about the 40ft area. Nice smooth ARC reaction out of the ball.
IMPACT: It hits like the Raging, ONE EXCEPTION THOUGH------it seems to keep the pins lower. That is a good thing. Very hard hitting. For the first few games out, I was slightly disappointed because it left me 5 ten pins in the first game, 13 for the night. I know I will need to get used to the ball a bit though.
READABILITY: This ball is so smooth I could see with a slight surface adjustment that it could easily be the first ball out of my bag. It seems to start reading the lane as soon as it is set down. I will require some head oil or you can forget using it.
OVERALL: This ball rolls exactly like the Raging, which is great. I loved the Raging, it just seemed to lose some reaction over time. I am pleased to say that it hits even harder than the Raging did. I do not see this ball as a big hooking ball like many have said. One post said something about it being stronger than the Storm Fear Factor......no way! It is Strong, but nothing like the Fear Factor, Track Animal, or Track Phenom. It is strong late....but does have to begin to encounter a bit of dry before moving, just as most reactives usually do. This ball is a definate winner.
The Inferno Series saved Brunswick. The Fuze line was CRAP. The Ultimate is no exception and though I am only 3 games in with it, it is already my favorite of the bunch.
I will post a review once I get more games on it.
