Hi,
somebody posted/discussed this topic before, with the idea of an "Absolute Inferno" in store at "Big B"

This idea is intriguing, maybe there is really something to it? After the release of the Impulse Zone and from current marketing of Brunswick balls in Germany (price reductions in several stores and online shops of 20%+ for the Raging Inferno) I would bet on an update of a ball with a medium/high load particle activator coverstock, maybe a pearl ball with more length/snap?

This would make sense, because it would set the particle Inferno more apart from the reactive Ultimate Inferno. Any ideas or comments on this?

I really think the Inferno line is done. It might be an "Absolute" something, but according to information I received from a top Brunswick guy back when the new Power Grooves came out, the Inferno line should be over with.

Ah, I see. Well, I just wonder what will come next, since the asymmetric Zones "cannibalize" the Inferno balls one after another, the only outstanding ball at the moment being the II (at least, regarding Big B's specs.)?

Well, but that's marketing: new name, new core, same performance... and probably higher prices NIB.

Not quite sure where you are coming from here...

I've *never* been able to get a Zone Classic to duplicate the reaction of an original Inferno, or vice versa. Nor have I ever been able to get a Time Zone to roll like a Bruiser, or vice versa.

Well, maybe *you* don't think much of the BVP line, but there are a number of us "across the pond" who would respectfully disagree.

Hmmm, mostly I have my eye on the oily side of the Brusnwick assortment. Since the Time Zone is for drier conditions, you are right (although I cannot confirm this, lacking exerience or a direct comparison myself).

I just see that, especially the Zone Classic and the new Impulse Zone, are very strong balls which make me wonder why I should settle for an expensive Inferno?

Ah, c'mon. The "Disco Inferno" is/was chitchat about an Inferno polyester ball, much like the Big Blue Spare in this forum. If this was the case, I'd bet it would never be called this way. "Inferno Spare", at best?
Honestly, I'd never expect Brunswick having enough humor or cool to launch a high performance ball with this name and maybe matching looks, e.g. a kind of glitterball, some chrome pearl resin and/or lots of glitter flecks? ALTHOUGH the idea is intriguing...

Well, someone who doesn't bowl around much could probably get away with having either one or the other. Of course, this assumes that their driller knows how to *properly* lay out a ZC to get a particular reaction (which certainly isn't a given around here

).

However, for tournaments, I think it's a good idea to carry both, because IME the ZC and Inferno are strong in different ways. For me, the Inferno has a moderate arc at the break, while the ZC is significantly sharper.

I've never tried drilling a ZC to be more even (never had the need to do this), but I have tried to make an Inferno more angular, without success.

Oh yes...there's a reason why you'll never see a "Disco Inferno" or "Towering Inferno" from Brunswick. Someone else already owns the rights to these names.
