The spec sheet says that the box finish is "4000-grit micro pad," but from what I've heard, the actual factory surface treatment is 500 smooth and then 4000.

I think mine came smoother than most, because one of the Product Specialists was surprised when I told him I couldn't see the cut lines when I took the ball out of the box.  I'm still very happy with the performance of the ball, though.

the quality control on my c-system 2.5( and every other brunswick ball i've had ) is excellent. bright, vibrant colors, all markings were clearly visable, and the finish was smooth and even.
