Title: Power Groove urethane?
Post by: LaneHammer20 on January 20, 2010, 01:17:36 PM: I have one of these coming that I plan on using as my spare ball and DRY condition ball. Anyone else have this ball and use it, how does it work on lanes that are burnt out. I know it only has a pancake weight block, but it sounds like a good ball for the price since they don't have the dry/r anymore.

Post by: dizzyfugu on January 21, 2010, 07:08:17 AM: I have seen a couple of them around here, and a team mate used one. He also bought it as a spare ball and for dry lanes, and it turned out that the ball would read the lane much better than expected (he plays pretty slow, good revs and a controlled swing and release). Its urethane cover offers a surprisingly good mid lane read. Overall it is a mild, arcing ball, but do not wexpect it to go dead straight - you need release adjustments to kill its hook.

Post by: UpstateProShopChris on January 21, 2010, 10:56:49 AM: These are great balls for spares and drier lane conditions. I have been using these as spare balls for years now. I don't like the extra skid that plastic gives. These roll very true and actually carry pretty well. I have had 4 of them all together.

Post by: Corey C on January 21, 2010, 11:05:03 AM: I have also been using a Groove Urethane for spares. It's also great to have if you are playing on very short sport patterns. You have to kill your shot at spares because the ball does hook, but it reads true and won't back up on you like a plastic will.
