Title: Power Groove vs. Blazing Inferno

Hey guys,
I was wondering how much different the blazing inferno was from the power groove (chrome/yellow).  I need something for lighter oil and I've heard mixed reviews on both balls.  The blazing apparently just takes off on the dry and the power groove is just a big backend ball.  I'm looking for something weaker than my lane #1 viper that's drilled stacked with the pin 4" from PAP, coz i still have to play deeper than i really want.  Would either of these balls do the trick?  I'm leaning towards the power groove drilled weak, maybe 5 1/2 x 5?  I throw about 17 mph, appx 250-300 rpms.  Any suggestions would be great!  Thanks!

One hack's observations:

The Chrome/Yellow is the skid-flippiest ball I've ever thrown, even drilled weak (5" pin-to-PAP, CG stacked, no XH).  If there's any dry on the lane, my Chrome/Yellow will find it, and change directions instantly.

My Blazing Inferno is clean in front, but it picks up the midlane *a lot* sooner than the Chrome/Yellow.  I have it as about two boards weaker overall than the original Inferno, and that's all on the back end.

Personally, I don't think either ball is particularly well suited to drier conditions;  I've had better luck with the Monster SlayR on dry.  However, if what you're looking for is something that lets you get your feet deep and will recover from just about anywhere, the Chrome/Yellow might be the ball for you.

Thanks for the reply COD!

How would the Slay/R compare to my Viper?  Would it be significantly weaker?  I throw a lot of Lane #1 and i feel that the brunswick coverstocks pick up a roll really early.  But they're one of the only companies that have matched up well with me.  Any other suggestions on possible dry lane balls?  Maybe from other companies as well?

I've never thrown the Viper;  I've only seen it in action, so I really can't give you a comparison between the two.  However, I can say that the reaction that I get from the SlayR is unique--clean in front, but almost urethane-like in the way it handles the dry boards, with *great* hit and carry.  I have it about five boards weaker with my feet than the Bruiser, and about seven weaker than the Chrome/Yellow, all on the back end.
