Twist question
« on: January 29, 2020, 08:22:52 PM »
Would the Twist, on dry lanes, be much different from the Hammer Widow Spare or the Track Spare +?  For example would you get better carry from the Twist since it's reactive?

Assuming its not so dry even a Twist rolls out or its nearly impossible to keep on the correct side of the lane the answer would be yes.  Honestly I feel like my Slingshot carries significantly better even than my Covert Tank which is urethane like (still adjusting surface on Tank though).

It's dry enough that my Ebonite Turbo/R with the surface changed to 1000/4000 and polished is too strong.  Forces me much further left than I'm comfortable with.  From the specs. I would assume that the Twist would be weaker than the Turbo/R.  I'd like to move back to the right and cut down on the angles.  What do you think?

Twist will be a weaker but not sure by more than 3 boards or so.  In a similar situation which is why being playing around with a Covert Tank.  Was a bit too weak for me polished on the fresh and carry was a little iffy.  Going to try with more surface in practice tomorrow.

I have the twist and Hammer widow spare myself. Twist absolutely is different and carries better due to the continuation provided by the resin vs plastic. I actually have a ball in between the widow spare and twist because the twist can bite when it's super dry.
They aren't close, on a really really dry house you'll see a huge difference

Thanks all.  Looks like the Hammer may be the best choice.
