Three to four ball Arsenal for stroker
« on: September 10, 2006, 11:26:55 AM »
I am looking to do a 3-4 ball arsenal, all Brunswick.  I have revs of stroker with speed of tweener. Don't have a lot of wrist strength so may switch to 14lb. The lack of wrist strength is going to keep me from more revs.

Currently have Absolute Inferno 15 lb and 14 lb Punisher. I like the Absolute on med-dry.  Even sanded it doesn't turn the corner for me on heavier oil.  I like the Punisher on medium dry.  I seem to do well with balls with backend and sharper breakpoint.  I don't need a weaker ball than Punisher.

I have an Ambush but it doesn't turn the corner for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Heavy Oil - OOB Scorchin' Inferno, drilled 3.5 x 3, pin under

Medium Oil - Lightly Scuffed Red Zone, drilled 4 x 3, pin under and right of ring finger, MB 2-3 inches from VAL

Light Oil - Punisher

Spare Ball

If you wanted to throw another ball in the mix, perhaps a Smokin/Radical for Light-Medium?

Hope this helps.

***note, suggested ball/oil conditions are based on MARKER's description of his rev-rate and his current arsenal, in which he is using an Absolute on medium-dry.  By no means would I normally consider a Radical/Smokin as a dry-medium ball -- but, for a slightly speed dominant stroker...

The Absolute does go long but after I have it sanded it gave me nice hooking arc shape than L shape. You can check my line up and reviews but instead of Ultimate then choose the Scorchin. Good Luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

Just to give you a better idea on my Absolute, when it was OOB finish, the third game on what started as a fresh shot would usually be my highest game.(Brunswick synthetic lanes)
It would take until game 3 where lane would breakdown to the point ball would really read for me.

We did sand AI down to 220 then bring it back up to 800.  It does read a lot better under fresher shot but I still have to play around 2nd arrow.

With my Columbia Action first game was usually highest game on same type of shot.
