I have a Punisher and have no intention of getting a polyester ball for corner pin. So will Punisher make a good spare ball ? Any comments ? Thanks......

NO! Except you drill it with pin on PAP or 6 3/4" from it to lay it dead. When the Punisher gets some dry board in its way it will grip and move - sooner or later. It breaks very hard, and as long as you play it with some rotation it is not a safe spare ball IMHO - even on long oil.
Buy a polyester. Be professional. That's what they are made for. Keep the Punisher for medium-dry conditions.

No way, its a skid flip ball and will snap once it hits the dry.

Not if you want to throw it normally. If you threw it dead straight, then you won't have a problem. Hell, I use my XXXcel for corner pins, but I don't put any revs on the ball. I just kill it, and throw it straight.

If you learn to throw it with 0 degrees of axis rotation, any ball can be used as a spare ball. But otherwise you'll have trouble.

I think one degree one way or the other shouldn't hurt too much.

Ok Mr. Smartypants.
As if it wasn't obvious that it was just a number.

Question, when shooting corners, do you still try to rev up the ball like you do for strike shots?
I know I like to use the same ball for spares and strikes no matter what ball I am using, from an ultimate inferno to plastic. Just change your hand position and you are all good. Even on strike shots, just using different hand positions will give you so many different options without having to make a ball change for more or less hook.

I think you would be suprised by the number of pros who dont use that tatic. The few regionals that I have particapated in a lot of the guys I crossed with just used the same ball at all of there spares. On tv though, if you are on a sponser team, you have to use a sponser viz a ball at your spares. Good luck shooting those spares.

If Tony Reyes can throw a Goliath straight towards a 10 pin, anything is possible!

i throw plastic and kill it... it lets me be a little off with the release sometimes but with a straight trajectory and fairly good reliability of hitting my mark, i just do it this way.
Just what makes you comfortable, right?

I think it's more personal preference then anything.. like everyone has stated.. if you kill your release, flatten it out.you can use any ball.. I was using my Slay/R for some time, but ocasionaly it would hit some dry and just swing by the 7 and miss..
I've since going to a Zone.. 35 bux.. and my 7 pin pickups have increased a bunch..
Just do what feels right for you..
GOOD LUCK
