Well I got my hands on a ball that I always wanted to get. I just drilled my swamp monster and I used it on oily lanes. First time using the swamp 227 207 200. I was well pleased. So I want to know if you ever had the monster purple, how did you have it drilled? Did you polish the cover or left it in box condition? I am thinking about adding a little polish to this ball,since the swamp is in dull condition. Let me know

I have a used Purple Monster on the way, and I used to have a full roller-drilled Swamp a few years ago (now a female high school bowler from my alma matar has it, does wonders for her). That ball (SM) is a friggin' beast on a fresh shot, especially on synthetics. I shot well over 660 three times during open bowling on that surface compared to wood (that's how bad my house is ) and low 600's the most.

If you do get a Purple, please experiment with the surface if it's NIB condition. Let us know how it works out. I have a request: NIB or 600 wet sand with Rough Buff!

i had several purple monsters back when they were in production. these were great heavy oil balls---they were also good for a fresh shot as it toned down the massive backend reaction that is usually present. i usually used them dull---scuffed with a burgundy scotch-brite pad but sometimes used them smoothsanded( 1,000 ). mine were drilled the same( basically a 4 x 4 with a big hole below the midline ).
