Avalanche Solid vs. Blue Vibe
« on: September 07, 2008, 09:51:34 PM »
I currently have a Blue Vibe pin over ring cg almost in palm. Probably the smoothest arc downlane I have ever had a ball. I picked up and Avalanche Solid which has the pin over the ring and cg kicked out about 2" from palm. Curious to see how the two will react when compared to one another with set layouts. Specs for me are in profile.
Surface for Blue Vibe is at 4000 Abralon and Avalanche is OOB (I will be plugging/redrilling fingers in same spot and putting surface back close to OOB at 500 Abralon + factory polish).

Thanks,
Laner

Be about like the difference between Godzilla and Mecha-Godzilla(one slightly stronger than the other). I hope I can generate that kind of ball speed at that time in my bowling career, if I'm still able to do it.

From what I got the other night:

Avalanche was a little longer and was slightly more angular when compared to the Blue Vibe. I only threw the Avalanche for a few shots in practice the Vibe gave me a better look to start. I ended up throwing the Avalanche later in the set when the Vibe was hooking earlier and the Avalanche gave me the look. Bowled on the Viper pattern and was standing about 23-24 with my feet crossing 12-13 at the arrows out to about 5-6 at the breakpoint, ended about 4 right of that with the Avalanche by the 3rd game. Ended up throwing my Groove Urethane up 7 the rest of the night, shot got very dry (much drier than the previous week) and inconsistent.

Overall I think the Avalanche will work very nice, I will play with the surface to see how it reacts at 2000/4000 Abralon when compared to 500/high gloss polish.
