I'm bowling in a thing this summer where you 8 lessons, some free practice, video analysis, and a bowling ball in the bvp line (or i can pay a little more and get another brunswick ball, not sure if they are offering other companies).

Do you think I could fit a punisher in here?

Saw blade-high gloss, pin 1.5 inches from axis, 3/4 inch above midline, weighthole past axis.
flash point-1500 polish, pin 5 inches from pap, 3 inches above midline

hit- pin 2 inches from axis, large weighthole on pap, 1 inch above midline, high gloss.

I'm thinking between the flash point (less snappy than saw blade but hooks less) and the hit (very mild in the backend and great length, about 4 boards less than flash point). So do you think I could get it to work under a flash point? Not sure if that would be too strong a ball.

O don't worry, i've got plenty up there (tpc player then command zone arc then wmb then diesel particle) which are all stronger than the saw blade. I was only referencing balls i use for medium on down (ala house shot balls, i only take the flash, tpc, and saw blade to league and never use more than 1 unless its a bad day). The only ones I TRULY even use anymore though are the tpc and wmb, i rarely take the others with me anymore to tourneys.

I was thinking of drilling it 5 3/4 inches from pap under the bridge to cut down on some of the backend and give it more length, but i'm not sure if even that will be weak enough for it to be a notch above the hit.

i thought you wanted it to be below the flash? and above the hit?

however you drill it, its going to be stronger than the hit based on the hits cover alone.

5 3/4 inches from PAP should be about right, maybe even 6"...regardless, its going to be stronger than the hit.

Sorry, typo... meant above the hit... those damn storm balls are so confusing... thanks for the advice though, I just want to make sure that its not TOO strong and leads to overlap among my flash point (which will probably happen if i don't drill it weak enough).

lets put it this way: the punisher is supposed to be a couple of boards stronger than the slay/r, and a little more angular.

with a 5 3/4 pin-pap i dont really see any overlap. even if you drilled the punisher identicle to the flash its still going to be a little weaker. i've seen the punisher come up hard, but with a bit stronger drilling than what your talking about. i'd imagine it'd have some angle to it, but its still not going to match the flash.

yea, naturally it will have some angle due to the fact that the pattern's i'm going to use it on will be shorter/less than medium oil. But yes, the flash point is sneaky strong, and i imagine the punisher coverstock gets a lot better length on the dry stuff than the flash point.

If all else fails, I can always just polish the hell out of it until i kill it to the point that it is significantly different than the flash point. Thanks for the help, I'll talk to my driller about it and see what he thinks, but I think that it will be a nice fit.

I think a polished Nemesis could also give you the fit you're looking for, but the shape will be slightly different than the Punisher due to the different cover.

I *don't* think the Rico layout would be the best for what you're seeking, though; your 5 3/4" idea would probably give you better control overall.
