No different than the Original.  This one is easier to get longer pin outs if you desire those for a layout.  Same cover, same core, same weak reaction on todays lane conditions.  Good ball for unplayable wet/dry, or conditions where you need it to get through the heads clean and not over react.

.. and that's exactly what I need!

What kind of layout should I put on one if I get it? Are these balls easy to get?

Cool. Well, a "dart" is exactly what I need. I cannot stand these flying backends at my center anymore. They brought my average down 5 pins now. I have no ball that doesn't react hard to the dry backends.

For this ball, all I want it to do is push, and NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT jump. LOL

This was a VERY mild ball back in 1995/6 when I needed one. This is what my pro shop gave me. Wonder how it compares to the Power Groove Dry/R?

Listed at BBR.com as being low RG and only having a differential of 0.015.  That makes it about as flare capable as most 3 piece balls...

The biggest appeal of this ball is the core in it and how little it flares just like a 3 pc pancake ball.  Since it's a solid it's less likely to act squirty as some of the pearlized beginner 3pcs balls do today.

So it should be a good ball for these flying backends at my center? When I say "flying", I truly mean FLYING backends. Everything hooks!! LOL.

OK OK. LOL.

I'm just so mad because I keep buying balls to control backends and all they do is hook more!! LOL. I'm just hoping this is my last purchase in trying to fix up my arsenal. My average is really taking a beating :/.

Is this made in.... USA???

Had you tried a Visionary Blue/Green Centaur or a Slate Blue Gaygoyle?

If you're really worried about backend, put the pin below the middle finger. That reduces the backend on virtually every ball. That should be fine with your PAP. Hell's bells, put the pin on the negative side of the middle finger for that matter.

Depends on whether it was made before or after the move; does it really matter? You'll see when the ball gets to you.

I'm sorry.. But you post that you want a ball to controll the backend.. But you also want the ball to push? To me that doesn't make sense as that will retain too much energy till further down lane and increase the chance for your ball to jump in the back.. Put the pin down, place the pin closer to your PAP or take the surface down.. All to take out the backend.. Those would be my suggestions..

I have never gotten the chance to buy a Slate Blue or Blue/Green Centaur, so that's a no. Lol..

I asked Beans with my Orbit, if I should/could put the pin above or below the middle finger, and he said I would have a problem with possibly tracking over the fingers because of my style. So i'm not sure on doing that one.

My next step is putting the pin down if I don't buy a new ball, which i'm still unsure of. I want a ball to push as well as being controllable in the back because sometimes the heads go, and my weakest ball (Orbit Extreme) revs up too fast, and jumps on the backend. When I get my Orbit drilled sarge easter, i'll sand it down to 1000, or 2000, or something.

Get one, go pin axis(or close to it) and never fear screaming backends again.

Or......... Polish the hell outta that Orbit Xtreme.. And then sand your backflares.. Should tame the back for you..
