C System 3.5
« on: January 26, 2010, 11:45:59 PM »
I going to drill one tomorrow, I haven't had the greatest of luck with brunswick Asymmetric balls as of late. My Ultra was 45x5 1/2x70 and it was very rolly and did not like to be thrown away from the pocket. My Wild is 60x4 1/2x40 and its hit or miss, it seems to need a lot of friction early to be affective. So those who have experience with this core I am looking for suggestions, my specs are in my prof. I am looking for something to open up the lane, I have good luck with pin down balls because I like to throw it hard so I am thinking 60x5 1/2x70.

That sounds close. I would go with a 5 inch pin though. This ball has alot of recovery and is quite strong. But if you like to throw it hard i would use a 5 inch pin. I have one drilled 70x5x40 and it has plenty of midlane and plenty down lane motion. I have a higher rev rate as well. Good luck, you will not be disappointed in this ball.

I went with the 60*5 1/2*70, it puts the pin below my middle finger with no hole. This ball rolls great, clean through the front and picks up late in the mid lane. It really shines when you can move left and open up the lane. First night out with it tonight, since I dont post scores anymore I will just say I shot and award score for my 3 game total. Looking forward to throwing this ball tommorow in a local tourney.

Please excuse my ignorance but what does 45x5x70 mean.   I know it is a measurement but from what points?

That is a measurement of a layout derived from using the Dual Angle technique that Mo Pinel developed. If you check out the MoRich website they have details on the layouts and what the numbers mean with pictures.

I am a little surprised with my 3.5. I drilled it pin 12 with the mb mark 2 inches from the thumb. Thought that would mellow it out. It made it fairly long and strong but it seems to jump off the breakpoint awfully hard. I was however amazed at just how well it clears the heads. Thinking about taking the surface to 1000 abralon and repolishing,,,, any thoughts?

I have a Mutant Cell drilled 45 x 4-3/4 x 65 and I haven't thrown a bad game with it yet.  In the need for another heavy oiler I got a 3.5.  I drilled it 55 x 5 x 70 and this ball is beyond strong.  My Mutant Cell doesn't come close to covering the boards this 3.5 does.  I didn't expect it to carry as much energy as it does on the backend but boy was I wrong.

Only problem I have is it is the only ball in my arsenal that I roll over the thumbhole and it drives me crazy.  Other than that, it is a monster on a fresh shot.
