Haven't heard much about it, I'm looking for a weaker piece, and am looking at this one.

I'm eyeing the Slingshot to replace my Tropical Storm for an every other week couples' league in the fall on lanes that are fried like Chinese rice.

I used to have a black/gold Messenger with the pin sitting directly above the inserts in the exact middle (sorry, I'm utterly lame when it comes to the technical aspect of drilling, so that's my best description).  Would a drilling like this give length with a Slingshot on dry lanes?  My ball speed may be 13 mph tops, 14 when I'm really warmed up and MANLY

Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Lisa, with your soft ball speed, a pin-above layout should work just fine in the Slingshot.  If for some reason you do find that it goes too long, then you could always add some surface.

Slingshot vs Neptune..
the Neptune was one of the weaker balls for dry lanes. How does the slingshot compare?
How bout vs the Global Creature S40??
