Quantum Bowling Ball
« on: January 23, 2012, 03:37:08 AM »
My Old Quantum has died on me -- What a sad day...  Is there another ball out that has the same core and cover stock as the Quantum.. I have the dark Quantum....

Did you try the old hot water bath trick to revive it? Brunswick balls, in my experience, seem to do well with this to restore it's reaction..

I have a single drill 14 lb 12 oz Imperial Quantum.  Send me your email and I'll send you pics.

Otherwise, check out the MoRich Perpetual Motion and Aggressive Motion.  Huge mushroom-shaped low RG cores with modern coverstocks.

Here's his ball:

Same core does equal same ball. The Perpetual Motion is not an equivalent.

If zanatos can find a Bruiser, it will be closer. Only difference is the Bruiser is a solid/pearl combo of PK 18, but the Raven was also highly polished.

I'd try the Karma solid drilled slightly more aggressive then your current Quantum and adjust the surface as needed. Go with the same layout and adjust the pin say 1" closer to your pap.

Find a pro shop that has a Revivor or Rejuvenator to extract the oil inside the ball and then have it resurfaced on a Haus-type ball resurfacing machine. This should bring your Quantum back to like brand new.

The Quantum Raven was the best ball I've ever thrown. Sad to hear yours died, because after all these years I can still put the ball to use if I'm feeling nostalgic.

Do you still have the ball or know anyone with a original 90's quantum?
