Question...
« on: March 06, 2005, 04:22:18 AM »
If a ball is plugged twice how much performance does it lose, how much should resurfacing job usually cost and...  With these two balls that I just purchased, what can I expect from them.  I'm a medium rev bowler, and usually like up around 17-and throw ten.  I was thinking about getting the X-Factor polished, but wanted to see what you guys thought.  Or should I get the intense polished for dryer conditions? Please respond.  I'm lost here...

Intense Inferno
3" pin below the ring finger with the cg swung out. Single right hand drill. Span is 4 7/8". $60.00 shipped.

X-Factor
3" pin above and between the fingers with the cg out towards the pap. Fingers and thumb plugged twice. Span is 5". $25.00 shipped.

plugging a ball does nothing in terms to its performance. As for a ball for drier lanes, neither would be very good. They are both medium oil balls, and on dry lanes they will hook a ton.

Then what would be an ideal ball for me to get for drier conditions.  I was told if I polished one, it would go longer and stay longer for some considerable time.  My brother's got a red monster he wants to give me but taht would probably make me part with the Xfactor...

Thanks for the input.

Well, for dry lanes I can give a few suggestions. 1)Brunswick Monster Slay/R 2)Brunswick Power Groove Dry/R (thats not coming out until end of this month-or sometime next month though) 3)MAYBE a power groove, but it might be too strong. Going out of brunswick area, maybe a storm big hit pearl? I've been sticking to brunswick so much lately I havn't looked at much other stuff. Sorry.

I have a Monster Scream R that is drilled Tame and it seems to work out well on medium to dry lanes.  Nice and smooth hook not a snap...  Sot well with it yesterday on dry wood lanes, 205 213... I won't tell you my first game though, should have pulled it out of the bag sooner...

of course the core material has been drilled out twice and thus the core is now a different shape.  Doesnt make a huge difference but there is a difference(depend who you talk to).  Same about rolling over plug material, myself and many others dont want to roll over it but a small amount(a couple of people on here) of people have said they dont think it affects performance to roll over it
