Okay all you guys, I have a Classic Zone red pin that I was thinking of drilling Rico1. THe problem is that the pin cg and PSA are not inline very close at all. If I drill it with the pin in the midline and the PSA at 45 than my thumbhole will more than likely be directly on the cg, or just to the left of it. Just wanted to know if this would cause any problems with the weight distribution because I know that the cg is reccommended to be at 45 as well to keep an equal balance of thumb and side weight. But If I drill throught the cg I may not need another hole neccessarily? just wondering what I could do or just forget about the rico

I utilized the "Rico1" drilling on my Red Pin Classic Zone, but my cg was in line with the Pin and MB. If you lay out the ball with the drilling what do the static weights (with any holes obviously) come up to? This will give you a good indication about what the final weights could be. Also, exactly where does your thumb end up and what is the starting top weight?
To Dr. Rev's point the ball can be a bit erratic for heavy handed player's...even with a more controllable drilling like a "Rico1." I'm might hit mine with an abralon pad at some point in time...but as of right now I've got an awesome piece for practicing as it really tells me when I'm repeating shots correctly.

My thumb will end up almost directly on top of the cg and pretty close to dead center. Plus I am a high tracker but I have my ultimate drilled pin below bridge and cg kicked right and do not roll over finger holes... Just a thought

I would say go for it and drill it Rico if you want. Just drill the fingers shallow, and the thumb deep to take out some of the tumb weight. Then place the weighthole accordingly. All that matters is that the ball meets legal statics.
