Brunswick Mammoth

Can the Mammoth still handle heavy long oil? Need something for the Shark and Scorpion patterns. Thanks.

That's what it was made for. If you have many games on it you may want to have the oil extracted. The heavy load particle balls soak up the oil even faster than the other reactives.

if you've got more than 20-25 games on the ball take itto a pro shop that has a rejuvenator or revivor and have the oil extracted. also have the surface of the ball rescuffed or resurfaced as needed.

I don't have the ball yet. I was asking first in case I wanted to buy it. So it can still handle long heavy oil right?

Mammoth was a very good, very aggressive ball DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS CONDITION.

 It is, however, a VERY high maintenance ball, due to the amount of oil it is exposed to. Needs frequent wiping, cleaning, and de-oiling.

 Whatever works for you. Hot water bucket method didn't work for me, but a trip through the dishwasher WITH detergent did, just remember to turn off the HEAT DRY cycle.

 People said it would crack it, but it wasn't any good like it was, so I tried it and it worked.

You might need several turns in the bucket. I use hot tap water, a splash of kitchen cleaner and leave my balls for about 30-40min in the bath, as long as the water is warm. In some cases, a ball would need a second and even 3rd bath to get the surface "squeaky" again - but it works!

brunswick recommends that you take the ball to a pro shop and have the oil extracted with a revivor or rejuvenator. this is the safest and easiest method.

but not the cheapest.  Run it through your dishwasher with the dry cycle turned off.  I've done it with dozens of balls, never had any problems at all, and the balls come out like brand new.  I don't use any detergent, just let the hot water and steam do the work.
