For those of you who have had success with the Shock Zone, what surface preparation(s) and layout(s) did you find to work the best for you?

Drilled mine with the pin 5" from my axis and the cg 4.5" (75 degree).
The best surface preparation(s) has been with the Trizac system. Usually switch between the cerium-oxide (league conditions) and the 5 micron finish.
This was the first proactive ball that actually showed different looks when finished with the different trizac pads. Other proactive equipment (HPH, Imperial) didn't seem to respond as well to the trizac, so I use scotch-brite on those surfaces.

I bought Lucky Lefty's old Shock Zone, and tried to duplicate his label leverage set-up of 3-3/8" x 5". Only big differences are that I'm right handed, and he is left-handed. I also moved my cg 1/2" off the midline.
  So far so good. This ball is considerably more powerful with this leverage drill, than the 15# ball I own with a 4" x 3" drill. The 4x3 drilled ball is my control ball for mediums, and light-mediums. Where-in the leveraged drilled ball seems much more versatile in medium-heavy to light medium conditions.
  Since I bought this ball from him, these are the first balls out of my bag, all summer long. I am pleased. MY next move is to buy the trizact system to see if I can change reactions just a little bit.
