Question on Damage Ball

I have a Twisted Fury has about 25-30 games on it. The ball got damaged on league night has some deep scratches in the track area along with several other gouges and marks. The bowling alley sent to have it fixed which I did not think it could be if the scratches were in the track. Well they filled in the gouges and marks now the ball is thumping going down the lane rolling over the thumb hole or something. Should the Bowling alley replace the ball? That is what I think should happen. Has anyone else ran into a problem with damage to a ball and the center not wanting to replace it? Would like to hear any response or comments.

Lane damage is entirely up to the individual center.

If the ball is rolling over the thumbhole now (and it wasn't before), then you are throwing it different.

could it be out of round? the repair be at a high surface than the ball and that is the thumping sound

roll the ball a few times, then find your track. if it disappears through the thumb hole, it's you. if it's in the fixed spots, it's them. have them watch you roll it, show them your track, then ask what they can do about it. if they can't fix it again, by rights they should replace it, IMO.

They probably created a flat spot in the ball when repairing the knicks.  Ask them one more time to fix it for you, then ask for a new ball.

If I was throwing it different why can i pick up any other ball I have and it does not roll over thumb? Just wondering not trying to cause a problem or anything just doesn't make sense to me why it was not doing this and now it is. Would the filler they used to fill in the deep scratches have any affect on the coverstock?

what probably happened is the pro shop filled it with clear plug, and when they cut it down they went to far can created a flat spot which if that happened the pro shop should be liable as well as the center (in my opinion)

I guess the question is are you tracking over your thumb now or is it making the thumping noise as it goes over the "patches". If it is now hitting your thumb and was not before it is something you are doing. IF it is thumping as it goes over the spots the pro shop fixed then they created a flat spot on the ball. You would need to really look at the ball to see what is the correct one. Another way to see if there is a flat spot on the ball is you could run your hand across the area that was fixed to see if it is flat.
