Diamond Back or Wicked Siege?
« on: February 06, 2012, 01:48:28 AM »
For a heavier volume shot, assume drill patterns similar (Siege is Asymetrical i know), OOB finish, what ball would be recomended? The spec sheets on the balls are very similar.

I'd say Diamondback for a heavier volume..  My Wicked Siege was very clean thru the front, even with some surface.

The Diamondback is a great piece that takes surface changes well. When you think Diamondback, think of the Ultimate Inferno, since they share the same cover. The Siege is a solid that handles about the same volume just slightly cleaner through the heads. The Wicked Siege is a pearl, but not necessarily for heavy volume in my opinion.

I actually used my Diamondback on heavy volume. The Wicked will not be best used as a heavy oil ball. I would go with the Diamondback.

The Diamondback would be able to handle the heavier volume oil conditions than a Wicked Siege.  Plus surface adjustments would work better on the Diamondback because it has a solid coverstock.  Here is a link to the video of the Diamondback: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JmlwBFbdqE

On the fresh I'd say Diamondback.  It rolls great and can handle some volume, but doesn't have the recovery to come back if you want to play the lanes from left to right.  Amazing ball going up the boards though.

Wicked I'd call more of a medium oil ball that likes to be swung and given room to work in the backend.

I have sanded my Wicked (too bad there was never a solid higher rg siege) and it can handle some volume but nothing I'd classify as pure heavy oil
