Title: R.I.P. Purple Piggy
Post by: boondoggle on May 29, 2005, 03:37:46 AM: After 12 years of service and countless games, my beloved Purple Rhino Pro (My 3 year old insists that it's a piggy) is no more:

Sadly it seems it will be impossible to replace. I'd bid on Nick's, but... 152.50?!! (as of right now) You've got to be kidding me.

Post by: boondoggle on May 29, 2005, 03:11:34 PM: Threw a game with it in practice, tossed it in the front seat (no room left in the bag), started driving home. It was a hot day and so I turned to AC on MAX. I had just been looking at a small quarter inch crack that had appeared under the middle finger about a month ago and thinking to myself that I ought to maybe get the hole drill out and plugged to remove that crack when I hit a pot hole which bounced me, and presumbably the bowling ball, up off my seat. I then heard a loud cracking noise, and having just been looking at that crack in the ball I immediately thought of the bowling ball, and sure enough when I look at it again it has that crack in it.

So, hot day + sun on ball + A/C on max + small crack in finger hole + extreme old age = very large crack.
