Just got a Punisher
« on: August 17, 2006, 04:27:29 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has tried putting a 4L Drill Pattern on this ball Using It to fit under a Smokin Inferno that is Drilled Pin under ring finger.  My Line will be
Heavy oil-Green PBA ball sanded to 500 grit
Med-Heavy-The One
Medium (benchmark)-Red PBA ball (oob)(soon to try and fit the Radical Inferno here)
Med-Light-Smokin Inferno
Light-BVP Punisher
Viz-a-ball for Spears

twoheadedboy is correct - the coverstock is quite aggressive. If there is too much/long oil, it skids forever, and when there is too little, the ball can become spasmic. But in the right condition and with length drilling, the N'Control PowerBoost is a NICE coverstock. Your drilling idea sounds good to me - just beware that the Punisher can move a lot on the back end and be susceptible to oil and carrydown.

I find this ball works best when hugging the oil line, so anywhere up 10-12 is good, I feel this ball likes to be thrown up the boards thru the front part of the lane, when I attempt to "circle" this ball I see the over/under most people describe.

I'd love to see a solid version of the Punisher with a lower RG core, maybe as an updated Command Zone Arc...that would be freakin' sweet!

Me too But I think I found my "solution" to this in MoRich's Sahara which combines the Punisher coverstock with a more powerful core - but not with an ultra low RG/high diff./killer MB core. It has more punch and back end than a Punisher (which I need) and is nice to play between 2nd and 3rd arrow. The Punishers I tested (2) were not to my liking, and I guess it is the mediocre BVP bell core that does not match my game (A Nemesis was adud either).
