I have had both and I liked the mercury better. The Dry/R is a nice ball, but it can be too strong at the break which defeats its purpose. You've gotta hit the dry with it or it will skate every time though. I tried lots of different surface changes with it and just could not get the smooth continuous reaction I wanted.
As far as the mercury, I've had 2 in the past and like a idiot let both of them go. The first one was drilled for a lefty and i'm RH. So the cg was negative and pin was left of fingers as well. That ball was smooth everytime. Like the Dry/R...you had to find the dry, but it was never jumpy off the backend. I never got to throw it much before I sold it back to the person I bought it from. The second Mercury was drilled RH with the cg in center grip and the pin was beside ring. This ball was a tad bid stronger than the first which is to be expected. Still it was not too strong and was never jumpy. I always got a smooth arc out of it. The Mercury seems to carry alot better than the Dry/R IMHO.
The only turn off for me is the color combo on the Mercury. In the online photos the ball looks like teal/red. Both of the ones I had actually were pink/turquoise. Looked like cotton candy or a giant bubble gum ball. I still hate that I let these go, but I just did'nt get to use them often enough in fall league.
