Ball Reaction Question
« on: September 13, 2006, 08:48:41 AM »
I have a Vapor Zone and Strike Zone, both with the same drilling, which is below.  On the condition I was bowling on, I noticed that the Strike Zone was just as angular at the breakpoint as the Vapor Zone.  The Vapor Zone seems to go about 2 feet longer or so.

Is this expected?  I was under the impression that there would be more separation.  Could the condition have played into it?  I was bowling on a 39ft house pattern, that was broken quite a bit.  I am mostly interested in how these balls will react on PBA patterns.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

Layout: 4 1/2" pin to PAP distance, pin 3 3/4 above midline, 65 degree layout.

Thanks
Chuck

The PSA location will have some effect to how these balls react from each other.

I can almost guarantee that a house blend is masking the difference between these 2 balls. Solid "anything" versus pearlized "anything" (anything being resin, urethane, particle or Activator or Soaker) should show definite difference in length, backend and oil handling. When it doesn't, you can bet your last nickel that a house blend or some other oil pattern and/or lane surface anomaly is hiding the difference you should see.
