Raging Inferno
« on: January 27, 2005, 11:23:24 AM »
Hey guys I've had my RI for about 13 months now and lately it has seemed to lose some of its reaction. But my dad and I can't figure out why. When i got it originaly it came polished and we left it that way up until about 2 months ago. We sanded it with a green scrotch brite pad and then put renews-it back over it and it came back a little bit. But the last 3 weeks ago it losly lost hook again so this time use the scrotch brite pad and didnt put polish ober it.Use it yesterday in my highschool bowling match and during practice it move but not very much. This weird because a kid on the other team on and was realyy hooking it. So now I don't know what to do. It's drilled w/pin above the ring finger drilled for oil and max backend. There isn't really a visble trck that I can see. So any suggestions would be welcome.
thanks
Mark

it has soaked up oil, like all balls do eventually. There are many methods to help take the oil out. My favorite is to give the ball a hot bath. (haha) Put it in a hot bath (not so hot u burn ur hand in the water though) with some soap in it, let it soak 15 to 30 minutes, take it out, wipe it down with a towel that has cleaner on it (not rubbing alchahol), run new hot water, soak it another 15 to 30 mins, same thing, do this until no more oil comes out.

By sandng it, you may have cause it to "burn out" earlier resulting in less hook.

yes renew-it is a polish but like i said we applied that after we sanded it. and i thought about that maybe we did cause the ball to burn up what woul sugest to correct this problem

O ok sorry, I thought you meant you sanded it, and brought it right back up with the polish. Just give it that treatment I said, it should do wonders.
