I love this ball!

Its a great ball, its drilled similar to lay out #4. Drilled to hook, pin to the right just above the ring finger, cg kicked out, bomb around 6in from the thumb hole. My driller said that the bomb placment would help me from "thumbholeing" the ball, because i track so high. A weight hole was placed directly across from grip line center, to help get the snap reaction i was looking for.

First iimpression of the ball was, its very strong throwing it last week during leauge. Any time i threw it right swung it out to about 15, the ball really "snapped" and headed for the pocket hard carying everything in sight. Not very eventful night as far as scoring goes with my crappy average.

Fast foward to tonight...
Game 1 ball had same reaction, was inconsistant pickin up spares carry was excelent. Weak 156 game.

Game 2 lanes start breaking down, reaction is less of an snap but more angular still carrying great and not burning up in the midlane. 205 missed a split conversion

Game 3 much more of the same, carried everything on the lane, spare shooting was much better not a single open 225 game.

Over all, for my lack of an "indepth" review. I am very satisfied with this ball, and im comming through my slump. The previous ball that i was bowling with (solid reactive) i would get alot of over/under reaction but this ball is much more forgiving.

Glad to hear that you really like the ball but i have a question with the drilling you have the ball should be able to do more than just be swung out to 15. cause from that point all the ball has to do is finally roll up and it will get to the pocket. i like mine first set i used it for was 231 197 246 i splited twice in the 197 and open the tenth the last one. can play a lot of lines, and i hope you have more future good bowling with the impulse.

Any comments on the ball's length, in general? I have heard it is very strong.

I am about to buy one, and it should be a complement to a Fuze Eliminator, drilled for heavy oil with early roll.
I am afraid that the Impulse Zone might grip soon and, even drilled for medium conditions, will hook/grip to early to be a good addition for less oil? I am also thinking about an Absolute Inferno, since it is a pure reactive with more length and a snappier reaction, which should fit better for shorter patterns.

Some impressions upon length and breakpoint reaction from practice on medium patterns with the Impulse Zone? Thanks!

dizzy the impulse is a strong ball but for how strong it is it is a clean particle. i would say this ball is good on anything except when you start to lose the heads. i dont drill my stuff that strong. since its particle is typicall yis made to handle oil better. good all around ball but the nature of it is strong so dont drill it to strong and expect for lighter shorter patterns. all y it need s a little oil in the front and it should be ok.

That was a bit of a typo, i meant that when i get it any where outside of 15. Standing at about 40, throwing at 20 and breaking anywhere out side of 15 the ball really snaps hard and turns the corner.

In the first game shots that break inside of 15 leave splits, through the headpin for washouts.

Dizzy: i broke out my Impulse zone tonight, on a 2 man mini leauge. On a set that hadnt seen a game all day, fresh shot. Same length as the pattern that i bowled on wed night, just a smaller volume of oil.

My impression of the ball on that shot, it was WAAAAAAAAAAY to strong wtih the agresssive drilling. It was clean through the fronts and with the light volume of oil it started gripping early and made a very hard break. (basically everything you are concerned about)

But with a less agressive drilling and a little work with the coverstock and various hand positions, lines, etc. im sure you could make it work on this condition.

Thanky BigMike_RevMaster. Dry heads are a problem on lanes with shorter patterns around here. Guess it is one more argument for the Absolute Inferno which should handle this better with its pearl coverstock.

When the first Impulse Zone test ball arrived here for the Brunswick pro staff, the first game was a clean 300 (by Achim Grabowski, national team A group player)! Everybody was baffled how strong this thing was/is/must be. "Shock and awe"...
