what ball...
« on: December 25, 2003, 02:12:18 AM »
my mom is looking for a new ball that works well in medium-dry to medium-oily conditions.  she throws the ball about 12-14 mph with medium revs.  she tends to start around 18-22 board and sends it out to 8-10 and back (right handed).  Right now she throws a colossus pearl and it works well for her even though it rolls out almost every shot.  she wants a ball with a nice arc to the pocket.  I can get a good deal on brunswick balls and I was wondering if the time zone would work?  any suggestions?

Sounds like her ball speed is a little too low for the time zone. I'd try a Frenzy instead.

I agree on the Frenzy, if she must have Brunswick (which is not a bad thing, just a limiting condition).

I would try either storm that way she would get proper length and still have plenty of finish at breakpoint. ex. Hot Rod

it doesn't have to be brunswick, but I can get the frenzy for $60 NIB but I don't remember what the storm prices are like.  the frenzy would probably work but I need to check my storm prices before I decide.  Also, I am thinking of getting an eliminator, how has that ball been for you guys?

I personally don't have an eliminator, but have the Raging inferno....It is an AWESOME ball.....

I've said it before, but here it is again..."its been a long time since I've been this happy with a new ball"

If it's gonna be Hot Rod, make sure to drill it weaker. It's much stronger than it is supposed to be.

Just my 2 cents

Compared to a colussus pearl I don't think the Time Zone would be any shorter.

On the conditions I bowl on(quite oily).  I always have to focus on getting the Time Zone to break early enough.  It is only marginally shorter than the Frenzy.

I think a better ball over all also!
