Title: Rampage question

I was watching my friend roll his Rampage today and it really looked like the ball goes long and has a nice arc on the back end.

I was wondering if anyone was using it on dry lanes as there dry lane ball?

The Rampage is not a prototypical dry lane ball.  Those who may use it as a dry lane ball are those with very little rev rate and/or faster ball speeds.  The ball is a great medium lane ball.  Clears the heads fairly well with a nice, smooth archy backend reaction.  It can be drilled for a little snappier backend, but for the most part, it does not roll like a typical pearl in that it does not exaggerate over under like most other pearls.

I use my Rampage for a medium-medium/dry house that I bowl in and the ball is great. Link to drilling:

Ball clears the heads easily and doesnt overreact on the backend (unless I catch a handful). Used it on wood lanes for tournaments and on tighter patterns playing right up the boards. Very versatile and definately not a true dry lane ball, unless ball speed in higher and/or rev rate is lower. Power Groove Dry/R is a better suited Dry lane ball.

I've bowled in some fairly long format tourneys.  Most people on a fresh ths pull out a AI or UI (if they have no hand) then they switch to a VZ or CZ then to a Rampage and if they dry up more, a punisher or a PG.  The Rampage seems like a controllable pearl.  My first experience with the ball was not really like this.  The ball reved like crazy and could hook with anything in my bag.  I may in the future use an even rolling layout and give that a try, but in my own opinion, with a strong layout it can be used for medium, and later in blocks for lighter from deep inside.  Its a great ball deep inside, really kicks out those corners.

Certainly not a dry lane ball unless you can really kill it.  Mine is snappy, but that is relative, snappy compared to my Vap, but not super snappy.  Pic is in profile.  It has been a very good ball.

Not a dry lane ball if you have some decent hand. Although I have seen Rampages in untrained hands that went 55' down the lane and then hooked 2 boards... but it was the players (un)skill, not the ball itself.
