Brunswick's cg propaganda
« on: July 06, 2005, 01:30:49 PM »
would do any nation proud...http://www.brunswickbowling.com/uploads/vids/CG_demo_5-05.wmv

excellent video...but they left out a few details....

1st as pointed out by many...why compare a legal to an illegal ball...where's the the weight-hole to take out the thumb-weight/side-weight???? oops that might have produced something you don't want the USBC to see on film...

2nd speaking of film...lane-dressing for said video...we all know lanes can be dressed to increase/decrease reaction....have seen house shots or floods make all equipment look identical...but put them on a sport shot...and one can easily see things much quicker...obviously the video producers kept that "little" secret in the dark....don't think the usbc or higher ave. bowler is fooled by that video at all...

3rd/final...brunswick left hand should tell the right hand what it's doing....ie. on the brunswick insiders site...RICK BENOIT...brunswick's own ACKNOWLEDGED QURU goes into great detail about when and when not to use stacked leverage (you can look it up for youselves)...i.e the position of the cg in relation to pin and pap...A DIRECT CONTRADICTION to brunswick's OWN-HYPED video...

This all coming from a company who exhibits nothing but greed...LET'S move to MEXICO....they have NO CREDIBILITY

WAIT!!  Don't go anywhere!!!

Answer this question!?

Pin 5 inches from pap.
Pin 5 and cg 5...where is bottom of core?  Probably down near thumb hole right.
Pin 5 and cg 0 where is bottom of core out near PAP.

Do we agree.  No difference in core?  Whah?

REgards,

LUckylefty

No difference in core angle? no

Very minimal difference in core angle? yes

Minimal enough difference as to not be able to see reaction on the lanes? yes

I like dp3's idea, take a clear werewolf and spin the ball about the pin. Look at the core, and then tell me what difference in core angle you see.

No, I have nothing better to do either.

Lefty,

It's hopeless. I tried to reasonably discuss core dynamics and was shot down in this forum -- and I'm a Brunswick guy, for pete's sake.

It's not worth the hassle as we've discussed in private emails on the subject.

I don't see where this discussion has become unreasonable lately.

Ric,

First of all I am with you with the CG issues.

Question 1

In the Video about the X-hole ban, on ball#3 with an X-hole, can you tell us how you guys measure the drilled RG-diff from 0.050 to 0.062?

Question 2

I agree flare=friction flare not equal to hook, the throbot is throwing the ball end over end, which is 0 degree axis rotation and 0 degree tilt.  So if each ring of flare expose fresh surface of the ball cover to the lane surface, in theory we are getting more read and friction, hence better read can decrease skid, and the ball can get in to hook and roll, wouoldn't it help to increase or maximize the hook potential?  Provided we are not throwing the ball end over end, atleast with some sort of axis rotation and tilt.

I watched the video over 2 weeks now, and still have these 2 questions in my head everyday, please help

On edit: What if we put an flare increasing hole on a low RG-diff ball, would that help?

Lucky, you need to get your hands on a clear ball so you can see what is going on here.  The only way that you can change the core angle is to move the PIN.  By moving the cg, all you are doing is rotating the core around it's axis.  The bottom of the core is NOT moving.
