Are these balls identical in terms of reaction?

Same reaction numbers for both on Brunswick's site...

The Swarm is stronger.  It will go a tad longer and be stronger in the back end and be more angular.  Brunswick says it will be one of their most angular ball (when I say Brunswick I am talking about a ball tester and rep)

Well they are both darn good balls.

I've seen the Rampage and it was nice.

Brunswick's video of this fine new piece is sweet also!

That is the new core for Brunswick's higher rg stuff.  They are very happy with it!

I'd say that they are fairly identical. The Swarm takes up exactly the same spot as the Rampage before. It uses the same coverstock and surface prep, just the core's RG numbers are slightly different. I'd say that any perceived difference in reaction will come from different static weights/drillings, the users' imagination or simply the virgin condition of the coverstock in new balls.

As a side note, take a look at the even older Time Zone - it used to fill this specific reaction "gap" before the Rampage, with identical reaction scale numbers
