what do you guys think.. Rattler or slingshot to compliment my Diamondback and T zone.. Looking for something that will go through the midlane well after things start breaking down no matter what the conditions are.. i rolled 4 games on dry lanes with my DB and couldnt find my mark for s#it, ended up hitting hi nomatter where i went on the lane, Rolled a 174, 120, 154, 237.. Can you guess which ame I threw my T zone??

I'd consider splitting the difference and going with either the Avalanche Slide or the Green/Black Avalanche, as they'd give you the length you're seeking, with a bit more pop at the break than the Slingshot.

Hmm never even considered the avalanches, I DID want to stick with the rattler because it has the same coverstock and seems to compliment the DB well.. But on the other hand it seems like it would also play similar.. I wish Instead of the DB I would have got a siege, just to open up the options little more, since the DB seems like its so "mid" level its a little tougher to get a good trio of balls that are all different , for example .. Siege, Rattler, slingshot

Try a Python. Versatile coverstock - great for when lanes start breaking down.

I agree with Ray. The Avalanche line would be a great idea. The Rattler will be a little much and the Slingshot may not be enough. The Siege, Rattler and Slingshot would be a decent line up though. The Avalanches will give you more length but less mid lane than the Rattler. If you drilled the Rattler a little weaker this could possibly work since you want to stay with the Rattler. The only problem is that your DB is already drilled pretty mild so I am not sure that the Rattler will be much different other than getting through the front part of the lane cleaner. Hope this helps... In case you are wondering the Avalanches are alot of bang for the buck.

yea that makes sense.. Im starting to throw a little different after a few hrs on the lanes with one of the local coaches to get my swing back, and my PAP seems to be changing a bit as I continue to keep my hand under the ball more and get my thumb out a bit quicker.. The 3 3/4 PAP I had was really coming up the side of the ball , SO Im probably gonna wait until I become consistent again..

That said , I really do like the 3 ball combo I listed and still might try, but i do desperately need a low oil ball that is not similar to my DB.. I threw a friends freeze ( which might be close to a avalanche, ) and that looked alot like my DB, Just not as aggressive mid lane..

I lovw that you are trying to get better instead of just buying that ball for the heck of it. I believe I read before that you are just getting back into the game and getting better should always be the first and foremost.

Yessir, Just started back again about a month ago for the first time in 4 + years. Man, I must be getting old if im sore after 4-6 games of bowling!

anyways I love the DB, and my t zone is great for the 6 and 10

as of now I can feel a change in my release and Im at about 4 1/2 PAP right now , And it feels very natural , so I dont think it will change much.. But I do like the rattler, and the slingshot especially for the price.

Is the rattler just a more aggressive angular medium oil ball compared to the light oil rather smooth slingshot?

Yes the Rattler will be stronger in the mids and more on the backend. Similar motion over all is what I am seeing the Rattler just being stronger. I know alot of people see the Rattler being pretty angular but both of mine were strong arc off the spot.

thanks Adam.. To me the heavy oil balls can be used by anyone with a good rev, which is not why im to concerned about a heavy oil monster hook ball now.. On 90% of the lanes out there, I can move my approach to play any type of oil condition with my diamondback.. The other 10% is when they re dry and my DB will just spin way to early , or if I throw it waaayyyy to the right it becomes real angular for the last 10 feet and usually goes directly thru the headpin..

The only reason I actually want a polished is so I can keep close to the same line as my DB ( around the 20 board ) and it will be able to get through the midlane mess for the drier stuff..

what about a four all combo? i have the siege pin under no weight hole, 3.5 pin under with weight hole, a 2.5 pin above ring finger then thinking of getting a slingshot pin above fingers. im' about 11-12 mph per hour. here's my video if anyone is interested

Yea man we have COMPLETELY different styles

And to me it seems like your 2.5 , 3.5 and siege are way to close to each other.. They are all heavy oil balls and hook monsters..

I think a much better combo ( for me at least) would be 3.5, DB, slingshot or siege , DB , rattler

The 3.5 is stronger and handles a higher volume of oil than the 2.5.
