I suppose it could be, since the cover responds pretty quickly to friction. Mine is a BEAST drilled Rico ( I track lower than some bowlers). If you went pin above the fingers it should definitely be more angular than pin down. Maybe someone on the site has one drilled that way and can respond.

If I'm not mistaken, the Anaconda video on Brunswick's website compares the reaction of all that line.

Rico no like me..

Checks up on me way to early...

A simple label drill, perhaps..?

I'm looking for a predictable, continous motion rather than a jump off the dry..

Anyone??

This is one of those tricky topics, no?
Depends on the drilling, the bowler''s release specs, ball speed and the oil amount and pattern. I''ve seen some flip very hard and I''ve seen others barely arc. The ball seems very amenable to change.

I think the ball''s basic design is very hard arc, barely NOT a skid/flip, but it can easily change with the "proper" input.

I''ve been investigating this ball for a while and decided to stay away from it. The Python seems a safer bet, the Avalanche Green/Black even more so. When the Anaconda becomes available, one of my arsenals will be Ava Urethane, Slingshot, Avalanche Slide, Avalanche Green/Black, Anaconda(, C-System 2.5).

Mine was drilled 5in Pin to pap, pin up, with a large hole on my pap. It was smooth of the spot and very continuous. More of what I look for in a bench mark reaction with a little more length.

The green/black Avalanche has been great for me. It hooks, but a bit more predictably than either the Rattler or the Python. My Rattler got a lot more use from me than the Python.

As usual, these have covers that are very, very responsive to tweaks.

I had two of them and they were both drilled the same......pin and cg  appx. 4 1/2 inches from my pap( right next to ring finger ) and the pba was down to the right of my thumbhole. Both had an extra hole down near the thumb as well. I usually used them highly polished and the reaction was closer to the skid/snap variety than the smooth arc.

The Rattler is my favorite ball of all time.  I have had several, my favorite is a pin down layout with a p3 like hole and 400 sand with rough buff.  The box surface is a little flippy but with the proper surface and slower response layout the ball comes to life.  I have more honor scores on this ball than any other I have ever thrown.

Pin over ring finger cg kicked out 1 1/2" low x-hole in thumb quad in OOB finish.

Overall, a hard arc to the pocket with nice continuation. But, there wasn't enough oil to really see it go to work (Cheetah pattern)

Maybe you should have asked for one of the undersized editions. Smaller balls will spin faster.
