Rebates... How long do they take?
« on: August 01, 2011, 01:31:05 PM »
Thinking about giving Brunswick another try since with rebates, all of their equipment, even the c-systems are under $100. My only concern is how long to get the rebates back. With everyone's experience so far with the rebate program, how long did it take.

Had two I got in two weeks and my recent one appears to need the full 8 weeks.

I just got my C*(System) ulti-max last week and used it at the PBA Eastern Regional event in games 6 - 8 on the Scorpion pattern playing between 4th and 5th arrow which I have a right handed cranker style.  This ball WILL change people's minds about Brunswick balls NOT continuing through the pins.  When my ulti-max reached the friction downlane, it continued through the pins even leaving 2 9-pins.  If you are looking for a new ball, the ulti-max is a great addition to the Brunswick line plus you get a $50 rebate.

I've had customers receive them in anywhere from 10 days to 6 weeks. I don't think waiting time on a rebate should affect your decision to get a ball though. lol. How long does it take to get rebates from other ball manufacturers? Oh wait....... ;)

It could be other companies don't need to offer rebates to sell their equipment, which would be why they don't offer them.

EBI started offering rebates not too long after. Other manufactures, from TX, prices fall so fast its not an issue.

Why does every argument against Brunswick come down to where they're made?  While I'd prefer America to continue to be a manufacturing powerhouse, my preference is not reality.

Urethane, the point I made was in reference to a brunswick staffers comment about other companies rebate program or lack of them nothing else.

I was not complaining about the time it took to get my rebate.  It seems that it took over two weeks from the time it was mailed until it was delivered by the post office.  In fact I got considerable help from a couple of people at Brunswick in tracking down the rebate check.  As far as I am concerned these rebates are the best deal in bowling.  Thanks Brunswick!

Offering rebates is a marketing technique to sell bowling balls and to create brand loyalty.  Other brands for thousands of other products not related to bowling do the same thing.  Hell, I just went with a certain carpet cleaning company because they offered a DISCOUNT on their service.  Does that mean they do shotty work?  No, it means, they want my business.  If they do well, I'll probably tell my friends, who will tell their friends and so on.  If they fail, the same thing happens.

As for your signature line, are we still harping on them moving their production plant to Mexico?  Brunswick has a piece of every corner of the bowling market.  Lanes, machines, balls, and scoring which encompass entire bowling centers that employ many thousands of people across this country, as well as other countries.  I'd be willing to argue that Brunswick probably does more for the American workforce than most, if not all, bowling brands.  They can probably offer rebates because they are a HUGE company.

As for the quality of the equipment, it is on par with every other big name brand.  When I was sponsored by a pro shop, I threw them all... Brunswick, Storm, Track, Ebonite, Hammer, AMF, Roto, Columbia, and many other smaller brands.  All of them make a decent product and I've had moderate success with each.  I started throwing Brunswick exclusively about 3 years ago and have made more money using Brunswick than any other brand combined.  Whether my game has evolved, or the competition has gotten worse, Brunswick has helped me get to the finish line in 1st more than ever before.  It also includes two top 100 finishes in singles at the National Tournament, which I'll figjam about all day long, because they represent all my hard work that I put in . And as long as I keep cashing checks to supplement my 9-5, Brunswick can count on me to push their brand on everybody.  And with the rebates, you are simply saving 20% to 30% on equipment, which I might add, helps the American worker keep more money in their pocket for all the other costs associated with this economy in shambles.

102101, here's a little info that may knock you off your high horse:

The polyurethanes that 900 Global and AMF uses to make bowling balls are supplied by BASF.........a German company.

I'd rather have it made in Mexico by legals then in the USA by illegals. Wait, its all the same. I guess everyone has an excuse. Whats the ratio of illegals to non-illegals in San Antonio these days?

Well, well, well.  The total punk from blackhawk lanes is back.  Still spouting his b.s. from the heartland.  Perhaps the schools and papers aren't very good in that area and that's why you haven't heard of the global economy?
