Recommend the Absolute? (refer to the my last post here)
« on: March 22, 2005, 09:50:16 AM »
I'm looking for a ball with a lot more backend than the Ultimate which is my go to ball. But when I have to play a deeper line and need a stronger angle, the Ultimate just doesn't make the cut. So, a little birdie told me that the Absolute is pretty popular currently and I'd like to try it out. Maybe buy it in the next couple of months.

I'm bowling medium-heavy oil with not so much backend to take advantage of. Usually I'm playing a pretty tight line. I've got a highish track and about medium-low to medium revs. Dont know about my PAP, so bear with me. I'm looking for the ball to be clean through the head(in medium-heavy oil, i dont think i have to worry about that), pretty strong midlane roll and recovery, and I'm thinking about maxxing out in the backend. Anybody have any drillings they'd recommend for strong midlane roll and wicked backend? Thanks in advance...

Yeah I know this a low RG but everybody is complimenting it so naturally, I want to try it. Thanks for your replies, I'll have to talk to my driller about them. Any other suggestions?

Sorry to highjack you here but I'm thinking of getting the AI as well. Now you talking about it being a low Rg so do you have to be a high revver of the ball to get it to finish well. I'm only a stroker bout 16mph, would i need a higher RG ball to get it to finish well. I already have the UI and well its ok but ive had more sucess with my two Red Fuzes. Hope you can help me here.

I'm a stroker and have a UI and looking to buy the AI. Seems we have something in common. Yeah, I have probably have medium to medium low revs, but my tilt changes with the lanes and how I have to play. When I'm playing straight, it is almost right up the back, and if I'm playing a wider angle, you need tilt to get it to come back. Which tilt would I have if I change according to the lanes? I really dont need this ball for control instead a strong midlane read with one of the strongest backends you can muster out of this ball. Would this drilling, BrunsRich, provide a lot of backend and some strong midlane? Since it's kinda on the pricey side, I want to make it right the first time or at least try.

Based on the question at the beginning, how many of you would actually recommend this ball for the condition I was talking about? Is there any other ball that would possibly perform better on that condition given the right drilling?

I've heard that the AI clears the heads like the OI, revs up in the midlane like the UI, and backends like the II. Anyone else second that?

Another question, how does the Vertigo match up with this ball with similar drillings? What I'm looking for is backend pretty much though in our house, there isn't a lot of backend to take advantage of unless you throw 13-14 mph.
