Depends on the lane surface.

Ultra-Twisted-Avalanche Solid has been a good progression for me.

That's sort of what my friend who is using his twisted but having some over/under is thinking.

Anyone using a Ultimate Inferno?  Drilling?

Marc, do you recall what pattern was used at I think it was Belton.  I want to say Cheetah but not positive.

I appreciate that info...but I also conceive of different balls on cheetah and scorpian and shark.

Anyone of the regional staffers or PBA experience league guys want to talk about balls and drillings they are having success with on these two patterns?

I am using the Twisted Solid with a medium pin and dropped cg on the Scorpion pattern to start out. Change to the Vapor Zone with a shorter pin when the lanes start to burn up. Finish with an Ultra Zone drilled with a negative pin to finish. Usually this combination works okay. Sometimes if I need more pop on the back I will change to a BVP Rampage or Smash Zone.

On the Cheetah I use the negative pin Ultra to start, change to a Twisted Fury with a short pin and semi negative drilling and finish with a Pearl Fury with a short negative pin.

Playing on the Shark. Use a Twisted Solid Fury to start out with a tall pin in the positive position. Change to a Vapor Zone with a tall pin and twisted cg and 2:30 hole when they start to go. Usually finish with a shorter Vapor or a Positive Ultra Zone with a tall pin.

Have been medium successful using these combinations. But, your experience might be different. Depends on the balls, condition, player and surface you are on.

Good luck......KB

Thanks guys....those are great comments and sort of the thoughts I had also.

My friend who is struggling a tad on the longer stuff is trying to solve with this years balls.  He is not looking at Blast or Strike or Fury Pearl.
Surprising as to me they seem like great choices for what I perceive of the patterns also.
