Replacement for Evil Siege

Hi,


 


My Evil Siege is starting to get beat up and I may replace it before the fall season starts. Which current B ball is similar? The rest of my arsenal consists up a Morich DestroyR, Damage and Slingshot. Any holes I need to fill?

Interesting question, mainly because the Evil had a slower response to friction than what's in the current Brunswick line.

 

The Wicked would seem to be the logical choice here, but the cover on the Wicked is somewhat stronger than that on the Evil, so you probably wouldn't get the reaction that you're seeking.  Based upon my experience--and as strange as this sounds--you'd probably get closest by putting Rough Buff or a light coat of polish on an original Revolver.  The reaction off the break will still be stronger than that of the Evil, but the shape and total hook should be similar.

 

Just out of curiosity, what's the surface prep on your Evil?

The surface prep on the Evil is box. As far as what you see, would I be better off with a different reaction shape than the Evil to complement the other three?

possiibly consider a lethal revolver. it has more of an arc type response reaction like the evil. Ray, do you see that as a good replacement for the evil?

I like the reaction I'm getting. I'm thinking I may need something between the Evil and the DestroyR if I am dealing with more volume than the Evil can handle. Right now it is my benchmark.

A little food for thought, then...

 

If' you're in the market for a good bench piece to replace the Evil, I'd give the Massive Damage a look.  It might be a bit longer and sharper than the Evil, but if so, you could take the cover down a bit to smooth the reaction.

 

For something in-between, the Wicked Siege could work;  it would be stronger than the Massive, but it's clean and angular withoug requiring heavy volumes.

If you really like the ball I would also consider another Evil Siege. They are still available at a lot of places for a decent price.

I agree with Ray on the Wicked Siege and that it's a bit stronger than the Evil, but also longer! I have a pin down and pin up Wicked with the pin down being earlier and stronger overall. I also have the Lethal Revolver pin down and it reminds me  more of the original Siege just not quite as strong overall. The Massive Damage is very impressive and I'm liking it more all the time. I have it pin up and it's very strong down lane and want to drill one pin down and that may be you're best option with surface adjustments! The Massive Damage is more of my bench mark and it'll tell me if I need go stronger, weaker, or stay with it! You have some great choices/options available with the new releases!!!

 


Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!
