My Red/Black is one of my favorite balls. It has a crack in it, and I would like to know what can i get to replace it, with a similar reaction. I bought it on Ebay last year, but there are no more around
What current ball should I get?
Thanks in advance

On Brunswick's "Out of the Box" Comparison Chart the Red/Black Monster used to fall on H11. The Slay/R falls on G6 and the Polished Power Grooves fall on G13, which is the closest to where the Red/Black used to be. The Slay/R would be much more skid/snap and the Grooves would more "arcy". The Red/Black and the Power Grooves share the PowrKoil 17 coverstock.

I have a Red/Black and feel like you do, Buckwild, about it.
Jmac, I also have a SlayR and have to say it is nothing at all like my Red/Black and the drillings are not far apart.
I don't yet have a Power Groove but have been close to getting one several times. With the same cover as the Red/Black, I'd have to take a chance and say try one. Although the RG in the PG is higher than the R/B, it has more flare. SO, you can put the pin closer to a strong position, depending on where the pin is on your R/B, to ry to emulate it.
Also I've seen a number of Missle Zones on EBay; it is very close in overall ball reaction and specs to the R/B even though it is a solid and the R/B is a pearl. PK 17 solid and pearls (as well as PK 18s) were very close in overall reaciton, as long as the cores were close or the same.
Additionally there is now a solid, sanded Power Groove available, brand new from Brunswick. With a littl epolish, it may also be brought close in overall performance. PGs are basically so cheap, there's not much to lose in trying them. ($52.50 plus shipping from Buddies Pro Shop, a very reliable internet shop.)
Good luck.
