How do y'all like your Impulse Zone?
« on: February 02, 2005, 03:52:05 AM »
Good or bad?  I am thinking of getting one and I like how Brunswick states that it is a very controllable ball.  Recovers from the outside and holds when tugged inside.  No over/under.  Plus with the low load of particles I would think it could handle some oil and/or carrydown.  What do y'all think?  Is what Brunswick says about this ball true?

IME, good, and yes.

As I may or may not have stated in a previous post, the Impulse is a perfect fit for me between the Warp Zone and the Zone Classic.

How strong is the PSA on the Impulse Zone, I mean how different is it from a symmetrical core?

The core in the Impulse is asymmetrical and has a Z-diff of .013

It's simply the best Brunswick ball out there right now, though I havent tried the Absolute.  I drilled two of them, both clear the heads great then just keep coming..

If I were to take the factory polish off and bring the cover down to maybe an 800 grit matte, would that smooth the ball reaction out you think?

I thought Brunswick's write-up on it says "High Gloss Polish"

I have had mine about a month now and love it. It worked good for me with the Brunswick High Floss Polish, unless there was carrydown or dirty backends. I solved that problem by using Scotch Briting the ball to 400-600 and then polishing with Columbia's 2000 grit polish, really burned in hard.

I don't have "a lot of hand" and have low revs. Others that do have what I don't have might not have to do this, I don't know.
