do i have the only dark absolute inferno?
« on: November 20, 2006, 11:42:24 AM »
Well finally i have seen a few more absolutes around my house and my ball looks totally different.  My ball is really dark and theirs are a lot lighter color.  I personally think the lighter looks really gay but thats just me.  Was my baby cooked too long or something?

It could be a factory blemmed ball in the color department, I think a few have slipped through from time to time.

If it looks bleached, the ball might either have been exposed to sunlight for a long time (pro shop window? I have a specimen around here in a shop that looks like the ghost of an AI!), or it could be the result of oil extraction. Activator+ is prone to fading out in the bucket - BrunsNick once posted a picture of a totally bleached AI, and my S&A also lost much of its blue to a light grey when I re-oiled it for thwe first time. Color came back with a new Rough Buff surface, though, and a recent bucket tour has not changed the color at all? Strange...
