the ultimate problem
« on: September 25, 2005, 12:04:10 PM »
I had a tournament this weekend and started throwing my ultimate but for the past few weeks it just loses all of it's energy down the lane.  By the time it gets to the pins its dead.  I kept leaving 7 pins almost every shot with it.  I thought it might be the lanes but I switched to my smokin and it was fine.  Is there anything I can do to bring my ultimate back to life or do I just need to retire it.  I've had it for about 1 year.

So do I need to do anything to the coverstock like sand it or anything or just leave it?

you say you've had it for a year, right ? but, how many games are on it ? how is the coverstock prepped ? take it to your pro shop and have the oil extracted with the rejuvenator or revivor machine and then get the ball resurfaced---preferably with a haus-type machine. this will bring your ball back to "like new" condition. and like the others have said---this is one aggressive reactive ball. it needs oil up front to store energy for the backend.
