I finally got mine drilled up Wednesday after a few mishaps. I knew I was going to throw it Thursday, so I didn't get much comparison time with my other equipment. Although it got down lane easily, I was expecting more length. My Wicked Siege at 2000 abralon seemed to get more length in the few shots I made with it. It has plenty of games on it, but I keep the surface fresh and de-oil it when necessary. I might have to sand to a finer grit (1000 or 1500) and re-polish, but I want to throw it more before deciding. Anyway, the Ringer responds to friction much harder than the Wicked Siege. The Ringer has a sharper back end than just about everything I've thrown over the past 5 years (admittedly not a ton of equipment and probably nothing designed to be flippy). It almost reminds me of my Silver Streak Pearl when it was new. As long as you throw it good, and there's some friction, it will come back from just about anywhere. Even with some pretty steep entry angles, somehow it never left a 9 pin.
I'll get some practice with it on Sunday on Shark. Probably not me best choice on the fresh, but after a few games, 12-20 at the arrows dry out fast and I need something that will get down lane, but still have some angle at the break point. I actually bought this ball for Shark and Scorpion since they seem to have a lot less volume in the middle part of the lane compared to a few years ago.
Side question - Does anyone else have problems picking up belt marks on a ball finished with Brunswick's High Gloss Polish? My ball had a ton of marks on it by the end of the night and I didn't see other balls pick them up. A dry towel wouldn't get them off, but they cleaned off easily at home with a cleaner.
