Brunswick arsenal
« on: January 06, 2015, 05:32:14 PM »
I used to throw mainly Brunswick back in the BVP era.  I kind of throw a bit of everything now. I want to get a Ringer Royal Blue and a Nexxxus for sure, but it looks like Brunswick has a lot of other good balls to offer as well.

Make me a 6 ball arsenal for Super heavy down to super dry. Any information you have is great.

The Blue Ringer is a great ball. I love the Nexxxus for a little bit drier conditions. It is great for getting inside and getting the ball down lane with ease.

The LT48 reminds of of the Nexxxus only not as strong. The Mastermind Intellect is a beast. The other must have is a Strike King.

Intellect
Nexxxus
Ringer solid
LT48
Strike King

Then pick one additional to go in between as desired.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

The Melee Jab is certainly a must have!  In order from oiliest conditions to the drier side:

Mastermind Intellect with surface at 1000
Intrigue with 2000 and strong layout
Melee Jab
Blue Ringer
Brute
Strike King

I really like this except I would go with a Melee Cross instead of the Ringer. I think the Cross is a little more versatile (due to the higher diff) and is a great rolling ball.  Plus it's a great match to the Jab.  No arsenal is complete without the Melee Jab.  An outstanding all around ball.

Here is what I would think would be a good arsenal from strongest to weakest:

Mastermind Intellect
Melee Cross
Fortera Intrigue
Brute
Melee Jab
LT-48

All of these would take well to surface changes and can be drilled to help make up a complete 6 ball arsenal.

I've been hearing so many good things about the Jab, I was wondering how it compares to the original Diva.  I love the Diva, and don't want something that gives me the same look. Has anyone thrown both and can compare?

i would go:

intellect
intrigue
genius
melee jab
blue ringer (benchmark)
brute
strike king (could double as spare ball)

My line up would need to have the mastermind at the top for super oily.  800 grit.

The jab is very impressive. Very skid flip.

I still love the original melee. Others have had less success with it though.

LT 48 is a great ball as well.

The brute will be down this area.

Gotta have a strike king for the drier times.

I realize that choices may be based on availability and personal bowling experience. I've never picked up a Melee Cross, Melee Jab, Intrigue, or a Brute. At this juncture, my best six Brunswick arsenal would be:

Mastermind
Meanstreak Beatdown
Meanstreak
Platinum Ringer
Avalanche Solid
Slingshot

How would the Nexxxus compare to the Melee jab and/or the platinum ringer?

The Nexxxus would be a little stronger in the midlane than the Jab depending on how it it drilled.  It has the potential to flare more.  The Jab would be stronger than the Platinum Ringer.

1. Nexxxus
2. Melee Jab
3. Platinum Ringer
