I was wondering how to sand a ball.Well more on the lines to which is better. Can u use just plain sandpaper.Or should u use the abralon sanding pad or i have heard people using scotchbrite pads.So what is like say 1200 grit sand paper=to the other sanding products?

Are you using a spinner?
If so, then the speed you use, amount of water used, and hand pressure all affect the outcome. My best guess (not knowing more about your question) is to find a gold scotch brite. Again depending on how you're using it, should get you anywhere from about 1200 to around 2000. Gold scotch brites can usually be found at auto body supply shops or online. Good luck.

Use abralon pads, that's your best bet. If not, use scotch brites.
I would stay away from sandpaper. Just my .02
